Discovering the abstract
Welcome to my abstract collection, a new chapter in my artistic journey. Here, you'll find works that feature my love of the Australian landscape and other intrests. Crafted to bring peace and intrigue to your space, these works showcase my new found freedom of expression.
Uniquely framed, uniquely Merran
What sets my abstract paintings apart is their presentation. Each painting is offered in a hand-painted, upcycled frame, coloured to enhance each work, adding a layer of unique charm and sustainability. My deep understanding of colour, design, and movement, honed over 50 years, shines through in every work, ensuring a distinctive artistic statement.
Peace in every brushstroke
My abstract works are a deeply personal expression of my connection to the landscape. Although bolder than my traditional art, they consistently evoke a sense of peace, as many viewers have shared with me. Each piece, often small and created with mixed media, invites you to find a moment of calm and reflection within its vibrant depths.
From oil to mixed media
My journey into abstraction led me away from my preferred oil paints and into the fascinating world of mixed media. This exciting shift has opened up new avenues for expression, influenced by everyday observations such as my neighbour's banana palms seen from my studio window, or the serene reflections in waterways and pond edges. These works are very affordable, appealing to both new art enthusiasts and seasoned collectors alike. My abstract paintings have been warmly received by communities like 'The Art of Creating Abstract Art' Facebook group, where my latest works, along with comments can be seen.
