Landscapes
Practicing the style championed by Australian artist Max Meldrum, my way of working focuses on building an image from the underlying tonal masses of the subject matter. This approach significantly applies when working outdoors in an alla prima manner. To my surprise and delight, very early in my art career, I began winning art competitions, ultimately accumulating over 200 awards. The Meldrum Method became a profound part of my artistic identity.
The Importance of Sill Life
To further hone my observational skills, I began painting still lifes, meticulously arranged in my studio under consistent light. These often featured flowers, and among them, I hold a particular fondness for my painting "Geraniums and Fruit". This piece, like my other work, exemplifies the delicate balance and tonal harmony I strive to achieve.
